19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since March of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.
The opponent defended four initial chances in a close third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
