Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the region, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, around one thousand energy customers in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
